Melt the ICE Hats (aka Red Hats of Resistance)
Join the thousands of "craftivists" across the country protesting the actions of the Immigration & Customs Enforcement under the Trump Administration with this "Melt the ICE Hat", originated in the Minnesota yarn shop Needle & Skein. In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, Needle & Skein yarn shop felt it appropriate to revisit this design. All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the immigrant aid agencies who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE.
