Artus Shawl - Stranded & Mosaic Knitting | January 14 & 28, 2025

LEVEL

Intermediate knitter - confident with casting on, knit, purl, and binding off. Helpful if you've done increasing, decreasing and stripes, but not required. 

MATERIALS - students will receive 10% off when they purchase materials from us! Must mention that you're in the class to staff to receive discount.

• Artus Shawl Pattern

• A sport weight yarn. Due to the floats produced by the mosaic technique it’s advisable to choose a yarn with a high wool content in a non-superwash quality.
  We strongly recommend Brown Sheep Nature Spun (we carry in the shop).

  Color 1: approx 470 m / 515 yards.
  Color 2: approx 180 m / 195 yards.
  Color 3: approx 270 m / 295 yards.
  Color 4: approx 120 m / 130 yards.
  Color 5: approx 130 m / 142 yards.

• US 4 & 5 40" circular needles, plus DPNs in size US 5
• Selection of stitch markers

DETAILS

This shawl is a beautiful blend of stranded colorwork and mosaic knitting. In this two session workshop, we will guide you through the construction of a garter tab, top down triangular shawl, a fun "waffle" texture stitch pattern, the basics of stranded knitting and how to knit mosaic patterns using a chart. This is a great workshop for building multiple different skills in a really stunning project!

Ages: 18+
Skill Requirements: Confident with casting on, knit, purl, and binding off. Helpful if you've done increasing, decreasing and stripes, but not required.
