DETAILS
Fiber Circle Studio’s knitting instructor Gayle and sewing instructor Deborah are teaming up to help you create your very own capsule wardrobe this spring. They have collaborated to select knitting and sewing patterns for the Capsule Wardrobe Series that complement one another.
A capsule wardrobe is a collection of thoughtfully curated, easily interchangeable staple pieces designed to maximize the number of outfits you can create. The focus is minimalist, versatile and timeless garments with an emphasis on quality over quantity.
Whether you are starting your capsule wardrobe by knitting a sweater with Gayle or sewing wardrobe basics with Deborah, each instructor will help you design a unique capsule that expresses your personal style through color palette, materials and design choices. In other words, the perfect basics for your handmade wardrobe.
This four-week Capsule Wardrobe Sewing Series is designed for new and experienced sewists who want to start their own self-made wardrobe. Students can choose from four options - skirt, pants, boxy top, shirt (with or without sleeves). Not only will they learn about basic garment construction, but also how to fit and customize their clothes with different design elements. Most students will be able to complete 3-4 garments by the end of the four weeks, provided some cutting and prepping is completed between sessions.
Ages: 18+
Skill Requirements: Mixed Level - must know how to operate a sewing machine, but no garment making experience necessary.
Taught by: Deborah Wong
