All materials and supplies are provided. Students are welcome to bring fabric or yarn scraps to dye.

DETAILS

In this class we will explore natural dyeing through dyeing different fabrics and yarn with locally sourced dye stuffs. We will also discuss scouring and mordanting as well as planting and foraging of local dye plants. 

In addition to covering the basics of natural dyeing, students will dye their own cotton bandana and take home a rainbow of fabric and yarn samples.

All materials and supplies are provided, but students are welcome to bring along any plant- or animal-based fiber scraps—fabric or yarn—to play and experiment with.

Ages: 14+
Skill Requirements: Open to beginners.
