DETAILS
In this class we will explore natural dyeing through dyeing different fabrics and yarn with locally sourced dye stuffs. We will also discuss scouring and mordanting as well as planting and foraging of local dye plants.
In addition to learning the basic process of natural dye, each student will create a dyed cotton bandana, in addition to taking home a rainbow of fabric and yarn samples.
Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any scraps of fibers, plant or animal based, such as fabric scraps or yarn, to play with!
