DETAILS
Create a Wearable Work of Art. This special class is perfect for both beginners and returning students! We’ll dive into the galaxy of Shibori, a Japanese tie-dye technique that transforms fabric through folding, twisting, binding, and shaping before before dipping it in dyes to create incredible patterns .
Instead of traditional indigo, we’ll experiment with a beautiful range of natural dyes—chestnut, iron, pomegranate, and madder root—on cotton, silk, and wool. You’ll have plenty of materials to test different techniques before creating your own finished silk scarf & cotton bandana.
All materials are provided so you can leave with a unique, ready-to-wear piece of fiber art. Additional blank textiles will be available for purchase if you’d like to keep experimenting!
Ages: 13+
Skill Requirements: Open to beginners.
Taught by: Meredith Law
