DETAILS

Join us for an outdoor experience in connecting with the members of our community and learning how to spin yarn. We'll begin our day with a 30-45 minute easy to moderate hike at Helen Putnam Regional Park. We'll then nestle under the oak trees, where we'll learn the basics of spinning wool yarn on a drop spindle. As we practice, we'll open up for people to share what they're experiencing. Space will also be held for connecting through silence.

This is not meant to be a therapy session, but rather a way to connect on a deeper level to others through fiber arts in a nature setting.

Students should bring a blanket or chair to sit on. There will be limited seating on park benches.

Location of trailhead will be given after registration and one week prior to the workshop. We'll meet at the trailhead and all hike together.

Ages: 18+
Skill Requirements: Come ready and open to learn - patience is key! Must be able to hike an easy to moderate, dirt trail for 30-45 minutes.
Taught by: Alisha Bright
