Intermediate - Confident with casting on. the knit and purl stitch, increasing and decreasing and binding off. No sweater or tee knitting experience necessary!

PATTERN

Tolsta Tee - This is a versatile tee that allows you to knit a simple, plain top, striped, or lace as well as which yarn weight you want!  Brooke will help you decide the best option for you based on your skills.

MATERIALS (not included)

Any fingering or DK weight yarn. Cotton is recommended for a cooler top, but other fiber types are welcome as well! See pattern for how much yardage you need for your size. Come into the shop and we're happy to help you pick out yarn and how much you need! Please note that a fingering weight top will take longer to complete.

HOMEWORK

  • Purchase Tolsta Tee Pattern
  • Visit Fiber Circle Studio for purchasing yarn OR contact us if you already have a yarn you want to use to see if it'll work.
  • Gauge Swatch - Cast on 25 (DK) 30 (fingering) stitches and knit for 5 inches. Measure the center 4inches of your swatch and compare to pattern gauge:
    • DK: 17 stitches and 27 rows in stockinette = 10cm/4 inches
    • Fingering: 24 stitches and 32 rows in stockinette = 10cm/4 inches
